We are VERY excited to announce that Suffolk Punch horses will be coming to Old Hall Farm!
Suffolk Punch Horses are one of the oldest heavy horse/draught horse breeds in the UK, and their lineage is documented as long ago as 1586.
Suffolks are always Chestnut in colour and are well suited to agricultural work due to their stocky build. Despite being typically shorter in stature than other heavy horses, Suffolks “punch above their weight” and are well suited to a long days work in the fields.
At Old Hall Farm, we are going to be starting an extensive agroforestry project and as such, would prefer to work with heavy horses to help plant and maintain our agroforestry (rather than use fossil fuels) - in conjunction with our sheep and cattle as part of our regenerative approach to food and farming.
We have managed to find some Suffolk youngsters who will be arriving at the farm early in 2026, and hope to be able to stretch to purchase another 2-3 horses in order that we have a good size team to work with, AND to be able to set up a Suffolk Horse Stud here at the farm.
Having spoken to many of our customers and friends of Old Hall Farm over the last year, the level of excitement about the horses coming to the farm is huge and as such, we have developed a range of sponsorship packages for every budget.
As well separate options for “meet and greet” sessions similar to our Cow Cuddling, our sponsorship packages will also offer very unique experiences and merch that will be available over and above our normal day to day packages.
